At Camp Wild, an effort is made to promote the Rural Sports of our country, which are dying or are much lesser known. On request, many sports like Kabaddi, Kho kho, Gilli Danda, Pitthoo, Lattu, Kanche, Kite flying and Tug of War,are organized for the guests. These sports, when tried by the guests, gives immense entertainment and contributes to myriad lighter moments.
Kabaddi:- Kabaddi is a high-energy contact sport that demands agility, strength, and strategic gameplay. Players take turns raiding the opponent’s side, tagging defenders, and returning before being tackled. This game enhances stamina and teamwork and has gained international recognition with professional leagues.
Kho-Kho:- Kho-Kho is a fast-paced team sport focused on speed, strategy, and coordination. Players chase and dodge opponents in a structured way, requiring quick reflexes and teamwork. It is widely played in schools and rural areas, promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship.
Gilli-Danda:- Gilli-Danda is an ancient stick-and-ball game similar to cricket, played with a wooden stick (danda) and a smaller stick (gilli). The goal is to strike the gilli as far as possible while preventing opponents from catching it. This game enhances hand-eye coordination and precision, making it a favorite among rural youth.
Marble Games:- Marble Games require precision and concentration as players aim and strike marbles to win. Played in open fields and village courtyards, this simple yet engaging game is popular among children and young adults, encouraging social interaction and competitive spirit.
